Some websites say my email address is invalid and won't let me proceed with what I am doing. Why?
Okay. So for some reason, if a website asks me to type in my email address, whether it be for purchasing an item or applying for a job, it always says that the email address I entered is invalid or not in the right format. I dont understand. This doesnt ALWAYS happen, just certain sites. I've tried erasing and re-entering my gmail email a million times. I just don't get it. Any ideas?

hiif these websites you are trying to sign up to dont belong to google - you need to ask them why they are rejecting a valid gmail address
you can send and receive emails so you email address is working

I have the same problem too many times. We type in our email address a 1000 times so please understand we are typing it right for whatever reason in some important times it says invalid address. Please investigate this is a huge problem

If you are typing in your gmail address exactly as it appears when you hover over the avatar at the top right of the Gmail page, you cannot get that response. Some things to check:
  1. Never include a blank anywhere in the email address
  2. Never put a dot before or after the username, before 'gmail' or after 'com'
